The Dismounted Urban Training Kit is a multi-use kit with the ability to safely and effectively simulate small explosions using 12 gram C02 cartridges, Smoke Powder and non-fragmenting thermoplastic (green) burst disks. The kit is modular, equipment can be combined, multiple effects can be created and triggered in a plurality methods and combinations. The kit comes complete with its own IMEESS Case, Field Supply Case and Start-up Consumables. MIL-URB-IMEESS is the ultimate solution for any urban dismounted training scenario.
Non-Pyrotechnic Electronic triggered Improvised Explosive Device simulators from MIL-SIM-FX can be set up with a range of different triggers. Ranging from a simple push button command to pressure mats and crude hacksaw blade triggers. All the way through to complex tilt switches, mobile phones and even our own zero metal trigger which is nearly impossible to detect by conventional metal detection. Devices can be set to Normally Open or Normally Closed – for pressure on or pressure release detonation.
This is a radio controlled, magnetic mounting improvised explosive device simulator. The radio system employed on this unit has two channels meaning that two different effects can be triggered independently from the same electronic trigger device. The 433 MHz radio transmitter allows effects to be triggered from up to 150m away with a clear line of sight. The device is composed of 3 parts: The radio trigger box, the magnetic caddy and the effect tube itself. The right angle head allows the blast to be directed away from the surface which the effect is mounted, and the effect tube can be rotated in the caddy to allow the effect to be angled in any direction.
In response to the threat of small anti-personnel IEDs two variants of small explosion simulator have been developed by MIL-SIM-FX. The Pressure Applied Device detonates instantly when ten pounds of pressure is applied to the device. The squib which generates the bang and cloud of smoke powder can be placed several metres away from the trigger device, and up to four squibs can be linked to one Pressure Applied Trigger.
MIL-SIM-FX have developed two IED simulators in response to the threat of small anti-personnel improvised explosive devices. The Pressure Release variant of the IED or Landmine activates with sixteen pounds of pressure. The device is then live. When the weight is removed from the machined aluminium trigger arm, the device will detonate. There is a loud bang and a cloud of smoke powder. With the MIL-SIM-FX non-pyrotechnic system trainees can safely be as little as 30cm from the effect when it detonates.
The twin pipe bomb trip wire explosion simulator is a double effect non-pyrotechnic weapon effect simulator designed to give a louder and larger audio and visual effect without increasing the hazard to the trainee. One of the simplest trigger devices available which uses a physical trip line across the path of the intended victim, typically fishing line or fine steel wire. The effect is housed in a magnetic caddy to make it suitable for concealing under vehicles or on metallic objects.
The twin underwater pipe bomb explosion simulator is a double effect non-pyrotechnic weapon effect simulator designed to give a larger audio and visual effect without increasing the hazard to the trainee. One of the simplest trigger devices available which uses a pneumatic signal to detonate. The effect is housed in a magnetic caddy to make it suitable for concealing under vehicles or on metallic objects below the waterline.
